ENGIE New Ventures (ENV) is a €180 million fund supporting start-ups which develop technologies to digitise, decarbonise and decentralise the energy industry, via renewable clean energy production, green gas such as green hydrogen and biomethane, carbon capture and usage, etc.
The fund not only invests in start-ups, but supports them in the development of their business model to turn them into strategic assets for the ENGIE Group.
The fund invests directly in the scaling operations of clean technology companies which have proved their worth, working in close collaboration with management teams to form long-term partnerships and drive strategic growth. ENGIE New Ventures’ portfolio includes 25 start-ups, with recent investments in Ineratec, H2SITE and Ndustrial – companies which offer innovative solutions in areas as varied as synthetic fuels and natural gas decarbonisation technologies.
ENGIE New Ventures makes minority investments of between one and five million euros and focuses on start-ups in their growth and expansion phases. The success of its investments is underpinned by three differentiating factors: support from experts in the sector, access to the markets and the quality of the teams. All investments are in a technology, client solution or business model that is designed to open up new market opportunities and accelerate innovation within the ENGIE Group’s operational units. ENGIE New Ventures is based in Paris and also has offices in San Francisco and Santiago as well as representation in Tel Aviv and Singapore.
